Within Sparked efforts to help companies make the most of their social media efforts, this social media tool was intended to give a big picture view of brand's actual engagement rates on Facebook, in absolute terms and also compared with their more direct competitors.
I have made several different projects for Sparked, some of them consisting in highly semantic Landing Pages. Others were much more complex, like this one where we employed D3.js to present data to users in a stunning and colorful way, adding animations and other effects to the mix. The main task were to give format to the data and implement the different graphics with the level of detail and polishment that Sparked requires.
This was my first experience with D3, and it was a challenging one because the specifications included IE8, which doesn't play very well with the SVG based nature of the d3.js data visualization library. It was a short project, with a really colorful result and a painful but rewarding fallback implementation.
Amazing work from Marcos. Clean/smart code that just works. Fast and reliable communications. I have worked with a number of front-end engineers over the years and he is top class.
